Day 33 - very early on day 34

So it's very early on Saturday morning (day 34) but I had a pleasantly busy day yesterday so no time to blog & in any case I expect most of you will still be asleep so although I've started today you can consider it yesterday!!

Very good good day despite going out for breakfast & dinner (thanks Peppers it was a great evening!).

Going out for breakfast is quite the most decadent thing I do now that I'm not working full-time - I do realise that means I lead a fairly unexciting life but it does it for me!!
Anyway I met my friend Simon (we used to work together) at Battlers Farm we had a good catch up & I had scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, grilled tomatoes and two slices of brown toast (no butter). We shared a delicious cafetiere of coffee & caught up on each others news - a near perfect way to spend Friday morning.

Then I came home to meet Jeremy who was 20 mins early - something completely unheard-of on our long friendship!!! As well as being a friend he is our architect and he came to take some pictures of the house to illustrate the documents submitted with our plans - maybe this time we'll be successful :0) We had coffee & a chat after he took his photos.

I didn't have lunch due to big breakfast but nibbled a couple of chicken wings mid- afternoon whilst watching the excellent tennis - Robson vs Sharapova.

Then Natasha came - nails & waxing (ghastly but it has to be done!!) & then I did the round trip of collecting both boys from school.

Last night the boys & I went to shul to see/hear/meet the man who we hope will become our new rabbi - if you are reading this & it's relevant to you pleeese vote tonight/tomorrow.
He was excellent - beautiful voice & very welcoming.

After that we all went to the Peppers for dinner - very nice meal & so easy for me. We had chicken soup, spaghetti bolognese with salad followed by melon & grapes for dessert (there were lovely looking meringues as well as some very nice chocolates too but I didn't gave those). Then to the jelly-beans - weirdly a mixed box of yucky & yummy that were same colours - strange concept but kept us all amused :)
Conversation was lively!! & varied with Andrew giving no ground (as usual) and everyone else desperately trying to change his intractable views - thankfully he managed not to offend anyone (although he came close at one point but pulled back from the brink....)

Anyway busy day today so I'd better get on.

Have a good day.
Lx
