Well they say that time speeds up the older you get so I guess I'm getting very old - where on earth did January 2012 go???????
I've had a pretty good day today on the food front - if I say so myself & if I don't who will :) - despite the error of leaving my lunch at home!!
Started off with porridge, semi-skimmed milk and a whole punnet of raspberries plus a large glass of squash.
Got ready for work & then had to take Tobz to school again (grrrr!!) - currently my biggest irritation as he wont get out of bed but if he misses the school coach there isn't an alternative route so he knows I'll have to take him. I am however making him walk home if this happens & I really hope this works otherwise I'll have to plan some sort of escalation & I'm not terribly good at escalation!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, I got halp way to WGC and realised I'd forgotten my lunch - was just passing an M&S food store when this happened so stopped off & bought some fruit (cherries, fruit fingers - melon & mango & a box of blueberries) as well as Cod Mornay from the 'Simply Fuller Longer' range (8 sins - I looked it up!)
I also knew I had a couple of yoghurts in the fridge at work so job done!
I will say that although very tasty I'm not sure who would be 'Simply Fuller Longer' but it isn't me - I'd need two for that!!
Tonight, I ate my lunch - left over beef stir fry from Sunday - with some extra sugar snaps, and when I've finished blogging I'll be having some fruit.
I had a lot of coffee today but probably not enough water - I'd run out of squash & flavoured water & there's only so much plain water a girl can drink so I do need to get more organised tomorrow.
I think that's all I have to say for today - I think many of us are struggling to stay on track just now so I hope my mad ramblings help a bit.
Love to all

Days 16 - 30 (2012) - OMG its nearly the end of January & I'm not progressing............
Hi All
I realise it's been an absolute age & for those of you who have kept looking for a new blog I'm very sorry :)
In fact, I'm even sorrier for myself because it also indicates a distinct lack of focus on my part as far as weight loss is concerned & sadly I've been finding and hanging on to more that I've been losing. As it stands I've only lost 1.5 of the pounds I put on in December which means I've got 5.5 to lose to get back to where I was at the beginning of December & despite what some very well meaning folk have said - IT ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and yes capital letters & lots of exclamation marks does indicate 'shouting by blog')
I can give you lots of excuses - & I've been working on them I can tell you - but in reality my head has not been in gear. My mouth, however, has been around excess chocolate, beigels, fruit bread, crisps (you can tell I was foraging - I rarely eat crisps!) but I've decided that THIS IS IT (more shouting).
At the end of March we have a wedding - the first wedding I've been to as friends of the parents (very grown up!) - and I really want to be able to wear the dress I had for Toby's barmitzvah. I want it to be comfortable & if possible to be taken in slightly. All this means I have to get down to 17st 8lbs (which is what I was when I bought it - by the time I wore it I'd put on a couple of pounds so the boned top wasn't as comfy as I'd hoped!) ie lose 12lbs in two months.
I can do this but I have to concentrate - so I will!
I'm going to restart blogging regularly & as fully as possible - which may mean you'll have to put up with hearing about every mouthful I eat again but please bear with me because it helps so much :)
I'm also going to continue at Curves twice a week and at least twice a week I'm going to use the exercise bike which I got from mum and dad but as yet hasn't made it out of my hallway - and I'm not using it there in case anyone sees me!! Next pic will have me on it :)
The exercise is really working, apart from anything else I'd have had a bigger weight gain if I wasn't doing any!! but my shape is much better & my waist has reappeared from the depths of the wobbly fat surrounding it - wouldn't exactly call it toned but much better than it was before :0)
Anyway, that's all for now - it's onwards & downwards from here!
Love to all

Days 12 - 15 (2012)
Hi all
Apologies for the lack of posting but I've had a busy week and Thankfully my mid-week binging did not continue do my dieting behaviour has been exemplary :0)
I've been poor, however, on the exercise front although I did go to the gym today but that's the first time since last Sunday.
However, I was doing a friend a favour on Friday morning (followed by a coffee and a chat), and then I went to see mum and dad in the afternoon.
While I was there I collected their exercise bike which is currently sitting in my hallway but I am going use at some point!
Had a lovely evening last night - no plans so Andrew and I went to see 'Girl with the dragon tattoo' at the Vue at Westfield. We did a bit of shopping before hand and then a really lovely salad from one of the concessions - great concept and perfect for me. Great film - thoroughly recommend it :0)
So now I'm collecting Tobz from hockey training then taking him to Vicarage Lane to see the end of the Rugby. Then I'm off home to put the shopping away - it's all go :0)
Enjoy your weekend

Days 9 - 11 (2012) A tale of two halves....
Hi all
Very up & down so far this week.
Weighed in on Monday & lost 3lbs :0) Really pleased about this as I'd been very good & really wanted to shift a good 'lump' of my December gain. Unusually rewarded myself with some new M&S knickers - clearly I am learning :)
Busy day on Monday - shopping, cooking, visited a friend, smear test (yuk! but it has to be done) & a very long visit to Vodafone to sort out my phones. Resulted in BB being upgraded slightly early so now have new Bold - absolutely fab if you are into that kind of thing.
Started early (5am!) on Tuesday as had presentation to give that I hadn't written so it was playing on my mind and I couldn't sleep. Also Toby's first day back at school so knew I had to get back into earlier routine.
Have to say both days I ate really well, three meals, lots of fruit and 5-10 sins - almost perfect.............
Today, however has been a disaster - started well with good breakfast (2 x Chocolate Weetabix with milk and punnet of raspberries plus two large glasses of water). Then salmon and mixed veg for lunch (microwaved) plus a Thai Mug Shot. Plenty of black coffee and water as well as a lovely box of cherries and a pear.
So far so good - however inexplicably after a meeting this afternoon I went completely beserk -3 donuts, Twirl Bites, Picnic bar were bought from petrol station (no petrol just the food) and eaten at alarming speed and now I feel really sick :(
Serves me right - so much so that I made lovely dinner (oxtail casserole) and it's sitting in the kitchen uneaten (Toby at gym, Dom had a meeting so got takeaway & Andrew ate earlier - good job I can re-heat it tomorrow).
I'm really fed up with myself - I feel awful and I'm having a session of self-loathing. I will get over it and it happens less and less these days but I really wish I didn't do it.
Still tomorrow is another day & I will do better as I am determined to lose weight again this week but will just have to be extra careful.
Hope you are all well

Days 7 & 8 (2012) - first weekend of the dieting year
Hi all
Hope you've had a fun weekend.
I've been pretty busy and tried really hard to eat sensibly - pretty certain I've succeeded too!!
Yesterday morning I went to synagogue with Dom - a bit of spiritual uplift always does me good!!
Then came home and made lunch for boys & myself - leftovers from friday night (soup, chicken and leftover veg stir-fried).
Took some shoes back to St Albans on Saturday afternoon - decided just to get a refund as I'd like to lose some more weight before I buy any more clothes even in the Sales.
Saturday night we took Andrew's parents for dinner at The Arts Club in Mayfair (it's their anniversary and Andrew's just become a member). It was a lovely meal, although I can't deny I felt a bit like I missed out on some goodies but I really want to shift my December gain ASAP. I had Yellowtail tuna sashimi plus about four small pieces of deep fried courgettes from Toby's plate!!, then a large sea bass fillet plain grilled (without the confit tomatoes - too much oil) with purple sprouting broccoli (dry fried with chilli - yummy) and creamy spinach. Drank fizzy mineral water, no wine & had fresh mint tea while the others drank wine, cappuccinos & scrummy desserts :(
Today I went to the gym this morning was weighed & measured and signed up for the biggest loser competition. It will be interesting to see how that weight compares to my SW weight tomorrow morning.
The rest of the day was mostly spent driving Toby to his various hockey training sessions - I'm very proud of him & have absolutely no idea where he gets his sporty genes from but I'm glad he's got them!!
Tonight's dinner wasn't my best but not bad although I have discovered that not everything can be cooked without fat!! I made turkey schnitzels with SW chips & broccoli. Normally I cook the schnitzel's in oil or some fat and keep warm in the oven - they are coated in egg and matzo-meal and I fried them in seven sprays of oil - not remotely enough to add flavour. I also under cooked the chips - broccoli was nice tho!!!
So that's it from me - I'm feeling optimistic about tomorrow's weigh in because I've been following the plan, written my diary & done some exercise :)
Fingers crossed xxx

Day 6 (2012) - lovely day off
Hi all
Bit tired tonight so just a quick post to keep in touch.
Went to the gym this morning - it's such hard work at the moment after the Christmas break.
Then off to the deli, M&S and back home to collect Tobz for his second trip to the dentist this'd week :(
Then home to do some work, cooking and off to collect my car - £650 later I brought it home!! Wish I could understand where the money goes??
Tonight, for dinner we had chicken soup with veg & lokshen, followed by roast chicken, curly kale (very nice earthy greens), new potatoes & cauliflower bake (yummy cauli mashed with an egg, veg stock cube & fried onion baked in the oven) followed by fresh fruit - rather nice if I say so myself :0)
So now on to the weekend, and tomorrow night we are going out for dinner with Andrew's parents for their anniversary. We are going to The Arts Club as Andrew has just become a member - should be interesting and will try very hard to make good choices.
Also need to try to do some exercise tomorrow to fulfil my 'three times a week' mission.
That's it from me.
Have a good weekend.

Days 3-5 (2012) - back to work
Hi all
Went back to work on Tuesday so it's been a normal week for me but so hard to get back into the groove - workwise & foodwise :0)
I've been completing a food diary this week and it does help focus especially as my 'honest gene' prevents me from eating anything I don't write down and so I'm not eating it!! I've eaten loads of fruit, veg and ff yoghurt and protein but these foods really don't satisfy in the same way as great big doorstep sandwiches, Christmas cake or yummy cream meringues (yes I am still craving chocolate too!) BUT with a bit of luck it will help me lose some of the weight I put on over December. I'm aiming for 3lbs but have no idea how I'm doing as I'm resisting the lure of the scales.
I've made some really nice meals this week including a veg filled spaghetti bolognese (which I had with a small portion of pasta and some spinach - nice combo. I also made baked salmon fillets in parcels with broccoli, baby brussels and runner beans.
The meals went down well with the boys (all three!) too which is always a good sign.
Tomorrow (Friday) is my day off - so its off to the gym, followed by food shopping & a trip to the dentist with Tobz :(
Hope you are all stepping into 2012 with renewed enthusiasm for what you do.
Love

Day 2 (2012) - weighed in!!
Quick post as nothing much to say really.
I weighed this morning and had put on another 2.5lbs so total gain over December was 7.5lbs - last year it was over a stone so I guess I've made some improvement.
I've re-read the book and done a massive shop today so I've got lots of fruit, veg, salad, cereal, crisp-breads, yoghurts etc. to ensure I stick to my plan and achieve my targets - in any event I've just cried off at least 3lbs of fluid - did you see Pat dying in Eastenders????? Soooo sad (I know I am!)
Tomorrow I'll start in earnest as I'm back to work. I'm going to make some soup now so I've something warm to take in and I'll make myself a salad. Also I've bought yoghurt and flavoured water to take in so planning is complete.
For the rest of today, I'm enjoying my last day of holiday can't say I'm looking forward to going back to work tomorrow but at least I won't be at home being tempted to nosh :0)
Enjoy your day

Day 1 of 2012 - a new start
Hi all
Happy New Year to you all - fat thin or otherwise :0)
I am restarting my clock today so this is a sort of summary post.
I started this blog on 23rd May weighing 19st 6.5lbs and at my best in early Dec had gone down to 17st 11lbs.
I will weigh in tomorrow about 6lbs heavier but I'm quite proud of my achievement and am optimistic that this year I can do better - mostly because I'm not going to waste the first five months of the year pseudo-dieting - you know what I mean 'saying I'm following SW but not losing any weight'.
Since June I have been going to Curves twice a week regularly and that has made a huge difference to my shape and my stamina. I can now go for a walk without sounding like I'm having a heart attack and dance at a barmitzvah party (as I did last night) until 1:30 AM (!) and not need an oxygen mask or a 'sit-down' in the middle - although my legs are very tired today, my back aches & my head is a little sore!
I have a nice quiet afternoon as the boys and Andrew are of to see Saracens at Vicarage Lane so I'm going to read my new SW pack - collected last week but as yet untouched by human hands! I'll do my planning for this week and write my shopping list for after class tomorrow.
It's also highly likely I'll nosh through the odd bits of 'naughtiness' left in my house but before I go to bed anything uneaten but open will go into the food recycling bin so my field is clear tomorrow.
I'm also setting myself three targets for 2012:

I'm also setting myself three targets for 2012:
- To be under 15 stone by next Christmas & therefore a size 14(ish).
- To do some exercise at least three times a week - this means if I can only do two 'Curves sessions' I go for a long walk or whatever takes my fancy.
- To blog at least three times a week - at least that way it will be more interesting for us all!!
So that's it for me today.
I wish you all a very happy new year - blog followers declared & silent - thank you for the support and here's to a magnificent 2012
